The Ark has been a ministry in Panama City Beach for more than 40 years. Noah’s Ark was formed as a retreat center for The Alabama West Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. We are now called just “The Ark”, and we have converted both our facilities and our programming to meet new needs in our community. Since 2012, we have been developing 2 new ministry directives: a coffee shop & international student housing. We are committed to combatting human trafficking in our area! Thousands of people have been impacted by the ministry of The Ark over the years, and we look forward to continuing this legacy by providing new connections to our community.
International Student Program
We provide clean, safe, and interactive housing for J1 Visa students travelling from all over the world. These students participate in The State Department’s Work and Travel Program, and they come to Panama City Beach to work at our local resorts and restaurants. Their goal is to have a great American experience; however, these students are particularly susceptible to sex trafficking, poor living conditions, and unethical labor practices. We work with local agencies to not only keep our students safe, but also to provide a place of refuge for the victims of these circumstances.
The Pour
The Pour is a new kind of coffee shop experience for Panama City Beach. We serve locally-roasted organic coffee, homemade food and pastries, and delicious gourmet popsicles. Everyone can find something to enjoy! You can feel good about enjoying your morning cup of coffee, knowing that 100% of the proceeds fund the ministries of The Ark. We are passionate about connecting with our community and fostering change!
